Day 13-15

Hi Everyone!
The next week is going to be VERY busy for me so I apologize if the blog posts are a bit spastic!!

Day 13 Wednesday January 16th 2013

Tee was even better on Wednesday! Halfway threw the ride we took the draw rein off and tied it around his neck to "test" our progress. We are making progress! He was remarkable and I was pretty impressed. Right now we are working on keeping him round and soft so that he can develop correct muscles and get use to going the correct way.

In the afternoon our lecture was by Gary Allen.
He taught us the correct way to clean and polish our boots and gave us some helpful hints on leather care (if your boots get wet from riding in the rain crumple some newspaper up and put it in your boot overnight, the paper will draw out the moisture and by morning your boots will be dry as a desert!)
We also had a question and answer sort of discussion about "problem" or trouble horses since Gary is a specialist in that area of horsemanship.

Day 14 Thursday January 17th 2013
Rode without the draw rein for the entire lesson! Tee stayed round probably 95% of the time, only trouble was the canter transitions but those are getting better too! I'm so proud of how far he has come in a few rides, its pretty impressive

From noon in till about 4ish I went to a nearby stable and worked for Mica MabragaƱa helping her ship 2 of her student's ponies to one of the local showgrounds. Once there I helped her unpack, hand walk the ponies and prepare for the vet jog.

Day 15 Friday January 18th 2013
 Hack day!!
Spent the morning at the Jim Brandon showgrounds watching the CDI Grand Prix and FEI pony classes.
In the afternoon I took Tee out for a walk with a few other stablemates then did a bit of shopping :-)
Thats about the extent of my day today!

Will try to post again tomorrow!

Stay warm Northerners!
